My name is Greg O’Brien, OCB and NGA Men’s Physique Pro, and Personal Trainer for 10 years. I have been working with Joe since January 2016, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. He coached me to my first overall win, but taught me so much more along the way.
Before I started with Joe, I was on a restricted diet and was feeling deprived of things that I enjoyed doing. While I won my first pro card while living like this, I didn’t love what I was doing. I was close minded and shut out the things that mattered the most. I was starting to see that it wasn’t a sustainable lifestyle, and was worried about the direction it was going. Even after achieving the goal I worked hard for, I knew there was more to it.
After starting with Joe, he taught me the basics of balance and flexible dieting. I thought it was too good to be true, but I was getting desperate, so I put my trust in it. After a year and a half of learning to balance food, work, and still live an enjoyable lifestyle, everything fell into place. Joe never deprived me of anything, taught me the importance of not sweating the little things, and to focus on what’s important, and not just in the competition world. When I was able to balance the lifestyle I actually enjoyed, the OCB overall win happened, and it felt truly deserved.
I owe a lot to Joe. At this point, the competitions are just the icing on the cake of a much bigger understanding of the lifestyle. When you can see that it’s less about the time you spend on stage, and more about creating a healthy lifestyle to get you there, is when you can achieve whatever you want. I never would have realized that if I didn’t start working with him.
